Since 1989, when the Commission on Individuals with Developmental Disabilities established the first kosher group home in the MetroWest community as a committee of United Jewish Federation of MetroWest, the founding leaders have been driven by a commitment to excellence. JSDD’s Board of Trustees and professional staff have defined the highest of quality as measured, not only through their concern for health, safety and compliance, but with an eye towards true quality of life.
At JSDD, the expectations for quality extend beyond what services and supports may be available to what life fulfilling experiences are possible. Our philosophy supports the notion that there are no limits to those possibilities. We have developed opportunities over time through a dynamic process of establishing relationships with the agency’s residents and Wae Center members. Unexplored interests, ideas, prospects for learning, continuing education and creativity are constantly evolving and emerge as our remarkable staff and the people we support get to know each other and share experiences.
Ability is the focus of all efforts in supporting the men and women we serve. We are delighted and inspired each and every day by the insights, revelations and creative energy that emerges when respectful relationships for the gifts and talent of every individual are considered. Learning and creativity occur organically as people share themselves and develop friendships and help each other to grow.
This rich history of commitment, trust and the pursuit of the most effective and person centered approaches to expanding our services and supports are the basis for JSDD’s reputation as an innovative organization dedicated to the individuals we serve and their families.
We invite you to take stand by taking a seat.
In honor of the 10th Anniversary of JSDD’s Wae Center, a large scale collaborative art project is currently underway called Chairs of Inclusion. Creating these bright, beautiful, joyful chairs was as transformative for the professional artists as it was for the contributing member-artists.
We all like to be included, no matter who we are. This is why Chairs of Inclusion touches everyone’s heart. We invite you to become involved in this joyful, transformative project. We invite you to visit the Wae Center to see these wonderful creations. You can schedule your visit by contacting our Executive Director, Linda Press at firstname.lastname@example.org
