The WAE Beyond program offers individuals with developmental disabilities, ages 16 and over, opportunities to gather on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and two Sundays a month to interact and experience new learning opportunities in arts and personal enrichment. All of the WAE Beyond workshops are inclusive and open to all. Registration deadline is September 13, 2013. Most classes are limited to 6 students. Pick Up the Beat with a Performance by The Defending Champions JSDD’s Wellness, Arts, Enrichment (WAE) Center concludes the 8th season of its Global Beat Series with the engaging music of THE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS. The production is presented FREE of charge, in cooperation with the Montclair Public Library, 50 South Fullerton Avenue, where the production will take place at 7 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2013. JSDD’s WAE Center Art Studio Manager, Harry Klein, and Monica Schneider-Brewer celebrate the work of artist Maria Fontanez, whose photograph “PhebeMaria” was selected for the “disconnected” Exhibit at the Arts Council of the Morris Area. We congratulate all of the selected artists, as their work is truly moving. Exhibits by the Arts Council of the Morris Area,  are consistently cohesive in the way they are curated. Make it a point to get to the exhibit and experience first-hand this thought-provoking show. Hope you can made it to the opening reception this evening – May 2, 6 to 8 pm for the dis-connected exhibit at the Arts Council of the Morris Area, 14 Maple Avenue, Morristown NJ. We are delighted that work by two WAE Center member artists is included in this exhibit, which has invited visual commentary about how people, places, and things can be uniquely connected, disconnected, or both at the same time.
