Work on JSDD: Life| Home| Tech, the grant received with the support of Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill has been going full steam ahead. Meetings with the team and vendors happen almost daily. The setting up of the demo apartment has begun. The apartment will include examples of equipment that can be used to help the JSDD community achieve goals of greater independence with the use of enabling technology. Tours of the apartment are on track to start later this fall.     The grant Management Team has been hard at work finding and bringing on the additional professionals who will bring this dream to life. JSDD Residents Go to Israel

JSDD’s residents and three staff members have returned home from a once in a lifetime trip to Israel. This trip, the Centennial Mission of Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest was ambitious and unparalleled. Each day was a new adventure with so much to see and learn. Travelling on the bus was a chance to create new friendships with many in the MetroWest Community. This visit to Israel was a first for each of the staff members.  Jen Fay, JSDD’s Director of Nursing said, “I enjoyed floating in the Dead Sea, exploring the Old City of Jerusalem, touching the Western Wall, sailing on the Kinneret, and learning more about the Holocaust. Virtual Exhibit Open through August 31st Exhibit open through August 20, 2023 at NJMS 2023 brought another summer of joining forces with Arts Access at Matheny and installing a summer exhibit in the halls of New Jersey Medical School. In addition to the work on display at 185 South Orange Avenue, in Newark, a full virtual exhibit is up and able to be viewed! On 06/29/2023, we celebrated our extraordinary cadre of volunteers with a luncheon. It was a joyous occasion filled with warmth and camaraderie. The event provided a platform for our members to actively participate in creating a memorable experience for each volunteer. Members embraced their roles as greeters, servers, and bartenders, fostering an atmosphere of inclusion and unity.
