Portraiture of Pride: Symbol of Self

LGBTQ+ Pride Month Art Exhibit - Call for Entries

LGBTQ+ Pride Month Art Exhibit – Call for Entries

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) Artists with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and LGBTQ+ Allies are encouraged to submit artworks for Portraiture of Pride: Symbol of Self Exhibition in Summer 2022.

We are seeking self-portraits that express the artist’s individual “spark within” and that may also reflect diverse viewpoints of the LGBTQ+ experience.

  • Artists’ self-portraits are an interesting sub-group of portraiture and can often be highly self-revelatory.
  • A self-portrait doesn’t necessarily include a realistic or straightforward representation of the artist; sometimes a self-portrait includes inanimate objects or abstract symbols that represent the artist.
  • Artists sometimes include depictions of themselves in larger group portraits with other people or animals; or may include a self-portrait in in another type of composition – such as a landscape.

The exhibition will take place online.

Entry Deadline: 5/18/22
