Created in our WAE Works workshop where artists develop and explore techniques which can be applied to “FUNctional ARTwork” with a product as the result.
These textiles are each a “one of a kind” piece created through a series of processes:
Members make the painting with handmade wax dyes to make rubbings on the paper. They then paint over the rubbings with liquid dye which covers the paper untouched by the wax. An electronic cutter is then used to cut designs into the painted paper which is then applied to the cloth using heat and pressure with a mounting press.
No two are exactly alike so call or drop by to find out about our full selection.
