There is no one more genuine in their admiration for WAE artists and the accomplishments of WAE members than Ellen. “She touches and shapes the self-esteem of our members and their sense of belonging to something bigger. Ellen’s presence, enthusiasm, encouragement, warmth, and pride are infectious and inspirational,” says Linda Press.

Hagit Oren, Judaic Coordinator held a Zoom Shabbat for the JSDD Residences.  All welcomed Shabbat with songs and blessings.  The women from the Passaic Home shared that they loved the Shabbat songs and how important it is to be kind to each other.  Winged Foot Home shared they like taking Zoom yoga classes.  All the homes said they were happy to see each other on the Zoom Shabbat gathering.

Hagit Oren, Judaic Coordinator held a Zoom Chavurah class on Sunday, May 17, 2020.  All the participants enjoyed a virtual tour around two ports in Israel – Jaffo and Caesarea.  Hagit taught them about the holiday of Shavuot and one of the Ten Commandments  to respect our parents and grandparents.  Stacy, a participant shared she loves her grandfather and has respect for him. Music was played in Hebrew and English and those listening told Hagit they enjoy listening to music.  A discussion was had about the importance of being part of the community and how we can be kind to others.  Everyone said the class was fun, educational and interactive!
