JSDD

JSDD provides a full spectrum of services promoting independent living skills and life fulfillment opportunities through the group homes with supportive living options.   During Shabbat the chance presents itself for different Group Homes to come together to celebrate Shabbat among their friends and have a delicious meal.  As you can see from the pictures everyone truly enjoys the time they have together! 

On Tuesday, November 26, 2019 the WAE Center members were treated to a Thanksgiving Feast, hosted by Mary Jo, David and Scott Reich.  It was also Scott’s birthday and all his friends at the WAE Center along with his parent sang Happy Birthday and then were treated to delicious birthday cake. Scott is beloved by all who know him at the WAE Center.  He loves music, has an incredible sense of humor and his smile lights up the room. 

We would like to congratulate WAE Center artist LOUIS D. who was selected to be featured in the Studio Montclair Fundraiser exhibition “Affair of the Art”, being held at the newly opened MC Hotel in Montclair.  The event is taking place for one day only, on Saturday, November 16th.  The address is 690 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair, NJ. Hagit Oren, Judaic Coordinator for JSDD facilitates Sunday Chavurah classes in the WAE Center.  This weeks class was about Bersheit-In the Beginning.  Hagit taught that G-d created the world, through the beginnings of the people of Israel, their descent into Egypt, and the giving of the Torah at biblical Mount Sinai.     The class also enjoyed food they prepared together.

Hagit Oren, Judaic Coordinator helped the girls of the Livingston Group Home celebrate Sukkot in the beautiful Sukkah that was built on their back deck.
