Welcome to JSDD’s Zoom Shabbat gathering celebration!  This weekly experience has become an opportunity for JSDD residents and invited guests to be able to socialize and observe Shabbat by means of Zoom, which is coordinated by our Judaic Coordinator, Hagit Oren.  Stacy from Maplewood was happy to perform the ritual of lighting the Sabbath candles and saying the prayer, and the entire group made Kiddush over grape juice and Ha Motzi over the bread. Grace is a WAE Center member who enjoys being behind the camera and taking pictures of her friends during the various activities that happen daily in the WAE Center.  Below is Grace’s latest pictures she photographed and as you can see everyone is having an awesome time!  There are photos from the Tai Chi Chih Class,  Cooking class, Board Games being played, and facilitators working one on one with WAE Center members.  

  The Chavurah Program meets on Sunday at the WAE Center.  Chavurah is a shared communal experiences of Jewish learning.  Hagit Oren JSDD’s Jewish Coordinator plans and teaches the creative program.

WAE Center members and staff all came together to eat delicious chili lime chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, black bean and corn salad, potato salad and topped it off with a yummy dessert.  The music was playing during the meal  which helped to invigorated the members to get up and dance!  Thank you to all the incredible staff who made the BBQ a success!
