WAE Beyond provides a time and place for individuals, ages 16 years and up, to gather, interact, and be part of a great social scene. We are offering a new class sampler this summer called “Summer Smorgasbord,” which will give students a chance to try several different workshops. It includes: Assemblage, Collage, Jewelry Arts, Printmaking, T’ai Chi Chih, Watercolor, and Weaving. There are also some popular ongoing classes like Cooking, Jewelry Arts, Meditation, and Watercolor (new). WAE Beyond provides a set time and place for participants, ages 16 years and up, to gather, interact, and experience new learning opportunities in arts and personal enrichment. Social interaction and friendships develop organically in the shared learning experience. Creative Classes, outings, and special events will be continually developed in response to member interests and requests. The classes will be kept small for maximum learning so register early.

JSDD’s WAE (Wellness, Arts, Enrichment) Center will be a visible component in this February’s Shabbat Shalem observances at eight Metrowest organizations and synagogues. Shabbat Shalem, Shabbat made “whole and complete” by the inclusion of all of its members, is celebrated nationally during Jewish Disability Awareness Month each February.   Artwork created by WAE Center members will be displayed as part of B’nai Or’s “The Spirit of the Human Family” exhibit, which is co-sponsored by the Morris Area Clergy Council. The show opens on Feb. 23 with a community-wide reception, 5-6:30 p.m., followed by an interfaith Purim celebration.
