West Orange – The WAE Center is pleased to announce that several works of art from its Chairs of Inclusion project (www.chairsofinclusion.org) are now on exhibit at the Rutgers NJMS Fall Arts Festival at the Rutgers NJ Medical School first floor gallery, 185 South Orange Ave, Newark, NJ. The exhibit features two of Lisa Ficarelli-Halpern’s “Dialogue of Four Chairs” paintings along with Yvette Lucas’ “Care Chair” in a glass showcase. The exhibit is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm and the Arts Festival opening reception is Thursday, October 16, 4-6pm. I am very excited to have been recently installed as the President of JSDD.  Having served on the Board of Trustees and on the Executive Committee for the past eleven years, I have had the privilege of working with each of the previous five Presidents.  My predecessors have made their own unique mark on our wonderful organization and I hope I have learned enough from each of them to make my own worth-while contribution. The WAE Beyond program offers individuals with developmental disabilities, ages 16 and over, opportunities to gather on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and two Sundays a month to interact and experience new learning opportunities in arts and personal enrichment. All of the WAE Beyond workshops are inclusive and open to all. Registration deadline is September 13, 2013. Most classes are limited to 6 students.
