Coming Soon: Chairs of Inclusion

In honor of the 10th anniversary of JSDD’s WAE Center, a large scale collaborative art project is currently underway. Ten life sized chairs are being commissioned from professional artists, each of whom is working with the Center’s member artists to create a chair as an art/sculpture object. The chairs represent our belief that every person is entitled to a “seat at the table”– in our community and our family lives.

Ultimately, these chairs will travel as a group or individually and will be exhibited at a variety of venues, including museums, libraries, schools, houses of worship, etc. They are testimony to the talents that oftentimes lay hidden in people with special needs.

We are seeking sponsors to help bring this project to life. The chairs will be displayed publicly in a variety of venues throughout the community beginning in the fall 2014 at the Gala celebrating our Tenth Anniversary.
